From a writer who till earlier this month had a laptop held together by rubber bands - I see you! Recommended to get a new laptop if there's any way to make that possible. Or use Substack on your phone - I often publish from my iPhone and 'write' using voice dictate.

I think the boundaries that used to encompass a lot of questionable "It's only fun, a laugh, a naughty little fantasy" costume themes, and fantasy themes, have shifted. Or at least are being questioned. And that's a good thing.

Where that leaves those of us brought up on these kinds of themes ('naughty schoolgirl', 'pretend you don't want it but really you do' etc) can feel really uncomfortable. I wrote a newsletter on this recently - are you ok for me to share a link, Alina?

This made me laugh because there’s something deeply unhinged about how quickly an awkward moment can turn into a full personality test. I love stories like this because they remind you that embarrassment is never just embarrassment, it’s always revealing something messier underneath.
